Los Guájares actually consists of three small villages, Guajar Faraguit, Guajar Alto & Guajar Fondon. The villages lie to the west of the main N-323 road running from Granada to Motril. Further up the valley, after about ten minutes of drive through fabulous mountain scenes, is the village of Guajar Alto, which also has a number of bars. Two of the bars Los Olivos and Carmen serve good local food. Continue over the Sierra de Guajar, you will be rewarded with spectacular views above the village of Albunuelas. On a clear day you can see Morrocco! Below Guajar Faraguit lies the village of Fondon.
