There is nothing like a pyramid of luscious strawberries to snack on all summer long and I have found a great way to grow them; raised planters!  I have found a great all cedar three tired raised planter that works like a charm when it comes to growing low to the ground fruit like strawberries.  If I could find a way to grow chocolate right along with them I would!

I also like the using a raised bed for just about every type of flower, vegetable and herb as well since they are easier to reach and work with and around.  The extra depth of the bed also gives plants really good strong root growth potential because there is more room for the root to grow down as opposed to fighting it out with its neighbor for horizontal space.  This allows you to plant more in less space which in turn holds water better as the growing season continues.  Having more plants also means less room for weeds to grow and fewer weeds mean less maintenance for you to have to do.  I call that a real win-win situation!
