With so many fencing options on the market today, we had quite a choice to make, and we had to do a lot of research into various solutions available.  We eventually went with a beautiful cedar lattice fence, because we wanted to be able to train vines and climbing shrubs to cover parts of it.  While we went with a wood choice, there are many fencing options available in vinyl and metal, and each has distinct advantages worth considering.  Vinyl and metal are impervious and uninteresting to pests like termites, and do well in areas of extreme weather.  Wood is an organic choice that’s easy to work with and also provides durability and versatility.

Garden fencing provides a way of defining an outdoor living area, as well as offering additional privacy or protection.  It can increase a home’s value, and with little maintenance will last for a decade or longer without repair.   Homes with fences are immediately sought after by families with children or pets, and can often be a deciding factor in a home buying decision.  Garden patio areas can make use of fencing by creating a sense of containment, and help to keep foot traffic along paths instead of across grass or though growing areas.
